My best friend's roommate had a birthday today. She turned sixteen. My friend and I went out, bought her a cake, a bunch of balloons, posterboard on which we planned to make a giant card, markers and candles. We (my friend and I) told her (my friend's roommate) that we were planning to have a boy over, so naturally she ran out of the room. We blew up 15 balloons, set up the cake, made the card and wrapped her presents. Stos and I then told another friend (in whose room the roommate was hiding) that there was no boy, but to tell her to come back to the room. We lit the candles and waited, lurking in the dark.
And she was so happy. She was so relieved, first of all, that we weren't actually having a guy over (it's against the rules) and so happy with her presents.
Isn't it sweet? She goes home to Korea next week, right after exams. We'll miss her so.
