Charlie's my favourite character on West Wing. I mean, he doesn't have a huge role, and Sam is beautifully played and Josh is amazing, but Charlie is just so REAL. He's so genius. He falters in his relationship with Zoe, the president's daughter, but he realizes his mistakes and apologizes like a man. He adores her, he really does. He loves his job, it practically radiates from him. But he's also always standing up, in his quiet and honest little way, for what's right. He doesn't care that he's getting death threats, he still stands on the opposite side of Zoe that the SS agent is on, being a protective buffer for this girl he adores, even tho it's HIM getting threats. He doesn't care about that, he knows it's right to be right and he's brave enough to admit that while conceding there's real danger.
I don't know how Dule Hill, the actor who portrays him, takes such a small role and turns it into someone who I adore so much.
Also, Leo is such a tragic figure, but I just love him as well. He puts up with the media attacking him for past mistakes, allows his wife to leave him before forsaking his oath (which may not be the best thing, but his sense of duty is certainly commendable).
Finally, no matter how many times I hear it, for some reason, I can't hum the tune of the West Wing theme. I don't know why. I recognize it, but I can't hum it off the top of my head. It's very strange.
