St Louis, Canada... Er, wait...

So, back in the days of Not-Speaking-French, my math teacher singled me out first day of class. He distributed worksheets and called me to the board. He tapped the current formula the class was working on and drew a question mark. Communicating in French about math was beyond me at the time, so I was thankful and shook my head, "No, I don't know that one." We worked back and the class was kind of giggling. Finally, he just said, "Ooh, la, la" (Let's ignore how hilarious it is that grown, adult men say Ooh la la) and handed me the chalk. I wrote 5+7. The class laughed again, but with me, I think, so it was OK.

Anyways, today, he singled me out again and I got pretty nervous. He kind of yelled out, "MISS WATSON!" and I hadn't been focused because I was still trying to find my pen in my backpack. "Are you familiar with St Louis, Canada?"

"Well, where is it, sir?" I replied.

"In Canada," someone in my class muttered.

"Canada's pretty big," I pointed out. "What province is it in?" Instead of answering, he spun, drawing an arch on the board and tapping it twice.

"St Louis!" he said excitedly.

Not pictured: Canada.
"Well, that's in the States," I said. Everyone kind of laughed, but he did too.

"That's why I teach math, not geography," he pointed out.

"I've been there," I told him. "I even went to the top of the Arch."

Anyway, the point is, I get to do a project about the history of St Louis and the Arch. In French. In front of my math class. I'm not really sure what it has to do with math, but hey, I'm really excited to work on this! My BBF is from St Louis.

"Hi, my name's Stos. I'm kind of amazing in general."
I miss her.
