They've noticed. I tried so hard to hide it. But they've figured it out. I suppose it was only a matter of time before I was noticed. And I hid it for only two days...
I eat very, very, VERY slowly.
I was made fun of today by my new maternal-host-grandparent. We were eating a pie of some sort (Grammy explained in her rapid French what it was. I only caught that it was a Belgian speciality.) and I was, apparently, eating laughably slowly. Judging by taste only (seulement), it was a sugar pie.
But everything here is going great. I'm very excited to be here. I registered for school today. I have normal classes like math and science, but a special class for studying French and my elective is gym. My other option was Spanish but I'm having enough trouble with language to learn a whole new one! My dad will be pleased I'm playing sports here.
I think I was told that we're going to a hockey game, a real hockey game played on ice. The majority of hockey here is played in a box like a lacrosse game, on the cement with runners, not skates.
Isn't that weird?
I went shopping today, and it turns out Auriane, my host sister, has never before eaten peanut butter! Neither has my host mum, Vero. I explained that you make sandwiches and eat it on apples and on bananas.
Tonight, I will go with Auriane to a "beach party" and she'll introduce me to all her friends. Hopefully I will make a few of my own.
